Re: Strange bands in first print layer

I searched in another direction. Next test-prints (photo attached) shows TWO layers printed, then I stopped. The white filament on the right side is the same filament as the first picture but because two layers are printed you see a nice recurring pattern in two directions with holes (!) on the cros...

Strange bands in first print layer

Hi, In the attached image you can see some strange bands in the first layer of these prints. After a certain distance the printer misses out a line and makes a small local mess. I tried both loosening and tensioning of the filament feed. But it persists. As the bands are at very nice regular interva...

Cable-trunk replacement

ONE way to solve problems in the cable-trunk..... In the first months after assembling my printer (3.0, dual head) I had continuous problems with the first extruder. The results were not consistent, very sloppy, many of the prints showed a very frayed finish and many times the print stopped just hal...

Using other stepper motors?

Hi, My second failure of an extruder stepper motor. Same problem: one of the connecting leads broken just inside the motor. I could repair it but found out the lead in my cable trunk is very fragile. Probably Felix uses very cheap, very low quality stepper motors. As swapping an extruder stepper mot...

Is this only a facebook-users contest? How can I submit an entry without signing up to Big Brother?

Regards,

Re: Not square X- and Y-axis

OK, so this evening I had some time to look into that. Sure, the FEATURE_AUTOLEVEL include is necessary, but it doesn't do the trick just by setting FEATURE_AUTOLEVEL=1. After some experimenting (and reading some levels down in the code I found that both FEATURE_AUTOLEVEL and FEATURE_AXISCOMP need t...

Re: Not square X- and Y-axis

Hi Dreide, Thanks so far. I found some parameters in the Configuration.h file of the new (v.0.92) firmware. As I was still on .91, I upgraded yesterday morning to 0.92. All works as before, some small changes on the display, but I will get used to it. I enabled the feature by putting the FEATURE_AXI...

Re: Not square X- and Y-axis

Thank you both for your replies... I inspected the machine, checked all bolts to be properly fixed, noted that also the frame is a little bit skewed (not much, but it all adds up). Three ways to proceed: 1. Modify the X-axis: I'm a little bit uncertain about loosening he X-axis and slipping it out. ...

Not square X- and Y-axis

I run into trouble printing a square (with right angles, 90 degrees angle between X- and Y-axis) object which should become one of the sides of a motor container/protecting box. As it is vital for the sides of this box, the parts should be perfect before they can fit together. I started to print som...
