Re: Has anybody upgraded to a wider belt?

Very helpful indeed. I've loosened my X belt a bit to 45N. It feels pretty good and tight, but not too much resistance on the motor. I will most likely keep this a 6mm belt (for now). I did upgrade the Y belt to an HTD 3M 9mm wide though. It's the one that really failed on me multiple times. I figur...

Re: Has anybody upgraded to a wider belt?

Marc, that is some very good info! I have some Gates PowerGrip belts on order, I'll see how they hold up and maybe look up some Optibelt backups. I tried a belt from eBay that has steel strands inside instead of fiberglass and it was terrible. After two hours of printing, the plastic stretched (slip...

Re: Has anybody upgraded to a wider belt?

My printer shows 1.5km of filament and 20 days of printing. Both times the belt failed (Y axis) was after printing small parts consecutively. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. I would print something, peel it off and hit start again. Now I move the location of the prints on the bed and slice ag...

Has anybody upgraded to a wider belt?

My belts failed for the second time since having the printer. The first time I had a replacement, this time it took me over a week to get a belt. Nobody locally stocks the HTD 3m 6mm wide belt. Now a lot of people stock 9mm and 15mm wide belts because they are used in CNC machines and electric scoot...

Re: Heated bed insulation using aerogel

That blanket looks better than what I have. I bought DEI 010460 Reflect-A-Cool 12" x 12" Radiant Heat Barrier. It was $12 shipped. I couldn't get ABS to stick before it. The nice thing is that it already comes very close to the size of the bed and it's self-adhesive. My bed "displays" 110C+ (as we k...

Re: Heater Decoupled since updating to latest firmware

Printer is "prining" without thread feed, "def" on LCD screen, no heating of hotends and bed. It can be anytime of printing process. My dealer suggest to replace thermistor first, then reload firmware. Down on top of the log box, select "Errors", so you can see a bit more about why it's decoupling....

Re: New printed parts for FELIX 3.0 display unit.

That looks very nice. My original one keeps falling off too. Random questions about the LCD: I'd like to relocate the LCD to the top of the printer. The original location makes it useless for me because of where my printer is placed. If I extend the wires, will the LCD still work, or will the voltag...

There's a built-in feature to do that in Repetier Host.

Re: Heater Decoupled since updating to latest firmware

Hard to believe that the cooling really helps with the decoupling, unless something is wrong with the electronics. And now decoupling just because of retraction!? What happens if you switch the part cooling fan on and off. That should have much more of an impact on the extruder temperature. Is the ...

Re: Heater Decoupled since updating to latest firmware

I'm back at it again.. Decoupling again, but this time it's a different issue. Since I cooled the board, I have about ~150 hours of perfect printing. Last weekend I printed some stuff from Arnitel 45D and when I went back to PLA it started decoupling in the beginning of the print between the nozzle ...
