I really wanted to like this printer, but I'm done with it

Wish that I had gone with another brand, or some "all metal" printer I haven't used my printer from at least a year (or two), but now that our current project needs it, well, it's the same story all over again, days of re-calibrating everything, again playing with slicers settings, praying that the ...

Re: 3Ds max and STL file.

Yes, satoer is right. It probably is better to don't use mirroring option when modeling. What mirroring does is actually creating a mirror matrix (the vertices data is not really modified) and it is up to the mesh processing application (when creating the STL) to correctly interpret that matrix. I'm...

Re: Why am I getting no help?

steps per mm are not stored, they are "set in stone" in the firmware (unless you have overridden them via the eprom, but apparently you have not modified that). They are in the config.h file if I remember correctly anyway, if you "insist" on using SFACT, after you slice a two file, I. The g-code edi...

Re: Why am I getting no help?

Jim, send a M120 in the manual g-code command-line and then try to move the axis again. (write "M120" in the text box just above the axis arrows, and click send). hoolito is right, move away (really away) from SFACT, and go with Kisslicer. The settings I posted for the Felix printer already generate...

Re: Z axis retur Home not working (it goes few steps down si

Maybe, just maybe the letters and numbers printed in the silk screen on the pcb means something? Maybe they are the model number and you might find more information using that combination of letters and numbers. As in searching for "rrs-oe' and "rrs-oe schematic", and maybe just choose one of the se...

Re: KISSlicer settings for Felix printer

I have some questions: - the print head starts to print a bit to high above the bead, and i cannot bring it down because the home position is pretty much touching the bed already. Is there a way to lower this position with the Kisslicer settings ? Are you using my settings? They are already tuned t...

Re: How to print smooth curves ?

i've downloaded Kisslicer and will give it a try. Just a question: for my problem of non-smooth arc, do i have to set anything in kisslicer ? or ba default it will make them smoother ? thanks Actually, no really, Kisslicer produces better paths that results in better quality. See this post for more...

KISSlicer settings for Felix printer

As asked by another user, here is my Kisslicer settings for the Felix 1.0 (and no, I will not upgrade my printer to 1.5 or 2.0 :) ) Please use these as a baseline, I'm not into fine tunning the printer or wasting plastic with endless calibration objects, so this are the settings that I use and produ...

Re: How to print smooth curves ?

In the screen displayed object, the normals are interpolated per vertex (when using gouraud shading) so it displays a continuous surface even when it is made out of non smooth surfaces (as in flat surfaces at different angles forming an arc). In other words is a trick to use less polygons and produc...
