Re: Has anybody upgraded to a wider belt?
I would be very cautious with tightening the belt, as even 40N is probably above the load limit of the stepper motor's axle (though I can't find specs for wantonmotor, for nanotec motors its a bit less), and the actual force would be 80N if the belt has 40N tension. Hmm, indeed the other files crash slic3r. I wonder wtf happened to the files between then and now. I'll try and re-export the STLs in the coming days when I get the chance.

Re: No smooth surface
FWIW, I recently tied down the x-motor to the vertical post with cable ties to stop it from tilting in the mount, and the ringing got a lot better. Just don't forget to place shims behind it to keep it at a right angle, I used 2mm thick shims.

Re: [WIP] another direct dual extruder
Re-zipping the files on my end gives me the exact same zip archive, so I doubt a re-upload would help. Maybe try on a different computer?

Re: [WIP] another direct dual extruder
lawong, i can download and unzip it just fine, so please try again. This is should be able to print both. I've made it out of PLA, and have only printed PLA with it so far. I haven't tested if the higher temps with ABS would cause any trouble.

Re: [update] Flexi-Felix-struder mod: done
I've posted about it before: http://forum.felixprinters.com/viewtopi ... 1448#p1185
The only difference is that I nowadays use ikea springs instead of the wavy washers.

Re: Z-Axis calibration problem
Sounds to me like the motor coupling is slipping, maybe re-seat it and make sure the setscrew is tight.

Re: [update] Flexi-Felix-struder mod: done
FWIW, I have a modified extruder that uses the same bearing opposite the filament as the felix extruder, but with a different lever design, namely a long lever to attach a spring to, instead of the short & hard design of the felix. Works just fine with flexible and normal filament.
