Re: Printer printing bad after 20 till 30 layers

What kind of a dust trap you use? Effective dust removal by well working dust trap is essential to successful printing! I have a small velvet covered cone on top of the extruder through which the filament passes just before diving into the extruder. It has worked OK for some time but suddenly stoppe...

Re: Another thermistor bites the dust

Thanks! So that's a drop in replacement, no tuning with the settings in firmware needed?

Re: Driving mechanism "eats" material

Happened to me just a month ago (and still does when using old slicer profiles). Reason: retraction settings. Lowering the retraction distance to half (around 0.8 millimeters) solved the issue. My problem was really similar. The printer would print quite happily as usual but then all of a sudden jus...

Re: Disappointment in 3D technology

Felix is not a plug'n'play device. You have to tinker and tune to get it just right and reliable.

I see you have already given up. But if you hadn't, it would be nice to try to help. For this we would need some more details on what is wrong with you printer. How it fails and so on.

Re: Felix 2.0 Printer Reliability?

Not necessarily related, but my printer developed a random clogging issue a month ago. No unusual problems before that, but now the hot end is clogging every once in a while. I have not changed the filament in months, just printed small parts from the same spool of black PLA every now and then. My p...

Re: 2.0 filament feeder

Have you tried putting some filament between the feeder and the bearing? Like you have when the printer is in operation. Filament will push the bearing away from the feeder gear/shaft thus creating some clearance between the parts you filed down. The bearing was rubbing against the extruder aluminum...

Extruder temperature constantly too low

I'm running Felix 1.5 with added LCD/SD expansion. As I monitor the extruder temperature during a print it stays constantly ~10 degrees too low. So, if I set extruder temperature to, say, 205°C, the actual temperature swings around 192-197°C but never reaches 205°C. If I drop target temperature to f...

Re: Glass Plate

Same here with the glass plate. I first sanded it with 800 grit wet sand paper but parts didn't stick. Then I went step by step to coarser sanding papers all the way down to 120 or so. The parts started to stick alright but there was just slight warping at the edges of parts. The warping only got wo...

Re: Next version wannahaves

I've tried dual LM10LUU bearings. Results are that the long rods are acting as a weak spring becasue they are only supported on the top and bottom. How about supported linear bearings?
