How to perfectly clean thread before hotend ?

Hello, guys.

I know, there is "cloth cap" to prevent dust translate with thread to extruder. But after 1200m of filament it seems work no more because of run-out this cloth cap.

What else you doing to clean the thread before extruder ?

Can you share small and complex model's secrets, guys ?

MAIN problem for me is wraping ABS when cooling down. It' causes not flat top if surfaces and sometimes hotend breaks the supports or small details in tiny or complex models. The some kind of solution was "Retraction Vertical Lift" option in Simplify 3d. So, it means before any trace Felix pull down...

Can you explain just one "shift" during printing ?

Hello guys. I've got smooth and flat kinda curved wall object. Big model length of 30cm and 14cm high,11 hours printing. There is NO issues with .stl or g-code. I've tested it in Repetier and Simplify3D g-code preview. But there is issue during print :( At the middle of printing every layers just SH...

Bed is not flat anymore ;(

So, when I bought Felix the bed was perfectly flat with no distortions. After half year and >1000 meters thread printed(~11 days), my bed have hill at middle. I mean it's bended by itself with no mechanical impacts or any other actions. So, at any of corners of bed the hotend is 1mm high above it bu...

Re: Heater Decoupled since updating to latest firmware

Well.... Now I agree with version of "messed wires". After 3 months with 0.91 my PEEK isolator melted down :( As I've learned on that forum it's 0.91 firmware "bug" so, be careful to use this old firmware. When I back to 0.9.22 I've got "def", dry print and "heater decoupled". There is no more solut...

Re: Ask for advice for better results

Well... it seems I've got better results this time. The problems I see is "whity" string all around model(bad filament ?) and some supports leaks caused some "threads out" and corrupted negative(looking to ground) parts This is ABS, Simplify3D, 235c degree, 0.15mm, 7h25mins, 163mm tall. Now, before ...
