Re: Prnting this Circus Maximus model

my 2 cents for what is worth, The model is amazingly well detailed, for me it seems way to complex to print at 20 by 5 cm and retain any kind of detail. Is your project about 3d printing ? Or about the circus maximus itself ? If your project is about the circus, remember the model will be relatively...

Re: Lockups

I had the same problem , printer locking up while printing needing a power of to get it going again. Took me a while to find out to find out it was caused by electro magnetic interference form the fridge standing next to the printer. The EMI was enough to corrupt the signal going over the usb cable....

Re: Z-axis carrier spare file 2 missing

yes, in CAD is all fit. Not tested in real (warping and another negative ... ). Part is already rotated to the correct position for printing. I recommend printing support. - Im ad new version, for longer hex nut I printed the original and your part both in ABS and they fit together. There is some w...

Re: Z-axis carrier spare file 2 missing

Is your part designed to fit z_axis_carrier_pt2 ?
If so i will try to print it in ABS. (and curse at the warping)

I think i will try to print it with the flat side down though.....

Re: Filament jam

You might also look up "pla canola oil" on google. My pla used to jam after a few layers. I measured it with a caliper and its just over 1.75 mm , so i'm suspecting it creates just a little to much friction in the hot end. Applying a drop of canola oil on the first 30 cm or so of the filament seems ...

Re: aceton

2 Yoda's , one had an aceton sauna one did not. I found these hard really to print. I Had a lot of trouble with collapsing support structures using KISSlicer. After the collaps the printer continued printing the supports in thin air causing a lot of debris sticking to the yodas. One print even faile...

aceton

A little test with aceton and ABS prints It removes the small interlayer unevenes. But bigger distortions remain. So the objects dont get a real tight look , but more a bit molten or wet look style. Should be cool for more organic subjects. Also the base of the object is now fused with the ashtray i...

Re: print quality problem

ouch , 230°C is more in the range for printing with ABS. For printing with PLA : I dont think a bed of 70°C should be a problem. Although the glass transition temperature of PLA is around that temperature the object your are printing is not under stress (carring any load) so it should still be fine ...

Re: FELIX 2.0: Updated extruder

I'd like to see a dedicated Readonly thread per felix version for all downloadable STL/gcode that constitute official releases or a directory in the download area for each version of the Felix with all the correct STL/parts as it's a bit hard trying to locate parts here and there in the forum, and ...
