Thermistor cartridge

Hi, I would like to experiment with printing different materials and I was hoping to find the datasheet of the thermistor-cartridge in the current hot-end version. Unfortunately, felix's online-shop does not provide any additional info. I am pretty sure it's NTC, but what about the brand, model numb...

Felix copycat from China

Hi everyone, I find it sad and pathetic when asian producers take a product and copy it so obviously that even the name sounds similar. It's just so unoriginal... Re: The ultimate anti curling fix so far

As mentioned in another forum, you may want to try vodka as your cleaning solution for a printbed. Obtain the cheapest vodka you can find - these usually are low quality and have some residues (sugar, etc.) in them making prints stick. In combination with a glass-plate - it is my ultimate solution s...

Re: Cool light LED bar upgrade

Very nice! I was thinking of placing an LED directly on the extruder to illuminate the nozzle, but this is even nicer.

By the way, how did you manage to get these nice renderings of your STLs?

Re: Glass Plate

Advice on getting prints stick to the glass-plate: rub it with a cheap vodka before printing. Cheap vodka usuall has a relatively high content of sugar and other residuals which make prints stick very well. Remember - pure alcohol will not work (at least it didn't for me).

Re: Bed temperature

...and if this doesn't help, try:
- print first layer very close to the bed (it should look very squished);
- print using raft (large surfaces have strong forces pulling the PLA together at the glass-transition - so reduce it by forming a mesh = raft);

Re: Clash with Backlash

Hi suraki,
This looks good :) Just one thing you might want to try:
set the parameter "Bridge width multiplier (ratio)" = 1.0 (under INSET) and reprint your bridge test ;)

Re: WIP: Dual extruder

@dognotdog: I use the thermal glue to mount the heatsinks onto polulus ( http://reprapworld.com/?products_details&products_id=238&cPath=1629 ). This provides great heat exchange and glues the heatsinks very well too. The usual stickers never stuck well and fell off at a breeze of air. Thanks for pos...

Re: WIP: Dual extruder

@Kjetil: Again, great job you are doing! A couple of ideas to improve stiffness: - X-axis motor is mounted so weight is not an issue - why not use a powerful Nema23 motor? The robust Al-extrusions should hold it and there is 2Amps of current that Polulus deliver; - Thicker belts (e.g. 9mm); - Use sm...

Re: New extruder design, testers needed.

@Guillaume:
Printing with rubber filament! I would love that, but it seems to me that only 3,00mm is available on the market right now. Do you plan to introduce it in your web-shop anytime soon?
