extruder motor has quit!!

Post by robots inc. »

I just assembled my new felix 3.0, and i printed at least 4 or 5 PLA objects, for a total of 18 hours of printing. every thing was running smoothly, until I went to print a planetary gear bearing. I could not preheat the bed or the extruder from the repetier host control panel, and it refused to extrude any material.
any suggestions ? is it a software or hardware related problem ? FYI, i cannot manually push the filament through, and it does not appear to be a jam, or a broken cable.

update :

after a long night of tinkering, I discovered that I could control both the extruder motor, and the hot-end/heated bed from the control panel, and both work perfectly. so it's obviously a software or firm ware problem, but from there i'm still clueless. I am using Repetier-Host mac, and Kisslicer.

any mac users with the same trouble?
