My second failure of an extruder stepper motor. Same problem: one of the connecting leads broken just inside the motor. I could repair it but found out the lead in my cable trunk is very fragile. Probably Felix uses very cheap, very low quality stepper motors.
As swapping an extruder stepper motor needs you to dig up a large bundle of wires, I'm looking into replacing these wires with some (better) flexible cable and connecting the stepper motors (and may be more) with a pluggable connector. Has anyone already experience with this?
Browsing around I also found a motor with a connector, e.g.: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Extruder ... 19352.html
Would that be a solution? Any experience?
What are the relevant spec.s to swap a motor for another?
