LooseHot End Screw... A Good thing?
LooseHot End Screw... A Good thing?
I have a two headed Felix. I have been running the printer with the extruder tightening bolts intentionally loose enough to let the extruder move up a bit during extraction. This provides some vertical clearance between the unused extruder and and the surface of the print job. This hasn't solved all the issues I am having with the second head, but it seems to prevent the unintentional deposition of filament from the unused head. Do other people do this?
Yes, the principle is used with this extruder: http://www.dglass3d.com/product/autolif ... -hot-ends/.
