Extruder 10 dergrees to cold

Post by Deluka »

I have the dual version of the V3
The left extruder heats up normal and hits its temp just fine
The right one heats up normal but stops 10 degrees below the set temperature
tried to autotune the PID of the second extruder and with some values found on this forum but the problem remains
Where could i look to find out what is going on ?

Although P can show an difference in a static system state, it's simply being counteracted by a 'force' in the system. Accordingly only the 'I' in PID will be able to help with a set point offsets like yours (that is within signal, sensor and actuator saturation limits).

I've never played with it - can you access the control signals at all?

Are they maxed out and still trying to get that extra 10deg or do they settle also?

If they are maxed out then I'd suggest a thermistor and/or extruder problem (electronics, mechanical placement etc.).

If they have settled, hrrrm - code/settings related ?

Am I making sense? :)

Also, can you access a temperature probe? Maybe an accessory on a DMM? Beyond the hassle involved in getting into the right place, it could be interesting to see what that says.

Well the problem is only occurs on the second extruder
Treid switching the hot ends but the problem remains
It heats up and then settles around 10 dergees under the set temp.
It makes no differents if i set it by software or on the display
Btw whats a DMM ?

DMM is mybe a Digital MultiMeter to measure the voltages/resistances/...

Anyhow, I would check also how the Thermristor readout is.

If you swap the Thermristors on motherboard and the problem stays on same extruder than the motherboard is defect (or not correct if it can be adjusted what I don't know).

The latest version of repetier (9.22) solved the problem
Also had some problem with cross talk between thermoresistor and the steppers making the temp of the 1 extruder jumping up and down
Solved this by removing the wires from the bundle
I will look for a better solution, maybe see if twisting them solves this permanently
