z.axis carrier pt2 and M8 nut

Post by nab »

Hi everybody.

Okay, I have mounted the z-axis carrier and want to slide in the spindle.

Therefore the manual tells me to "slide in the M8 nut into the small z-axis carrier part"
The pictures show us this part with a slot for the M8 nut on the side.

But my z-axis carrier part is different, just with a hexagonal hole in the bottom for the nut and a round through hole for the rod.
While the nut fits in nicely, there is nothing to fix it in its position.

Ah and the list of parts at the end of the manual shows the part (z_axis_carrier_pt2-v5) as the printed part I got

Any ideas?

Ciao, Norbert

Hi Norbert,

This is indeed not mentioned in the manual yet. I've changed the design, because the old design tended to break during shipment of a fully assembled unit. This design is more rigid and also easier to print. When the printer is placed normally gravity will keep it in place. So it's best to put the m8 nut in there and then screw in the z-axis spindle.

Kind regards,

Guillaume.

Hi HLA,

See the attached file for the gcode. It takes approx 2.5 hrs to print.

Kind regards,

Guillaume
