Z Axis motor connector dead?

Post by emu »

Hello all! Yesterday I completed assembly of an Felix 3.0 printer (single extruder without display). Now as a first test, I tried moving all the axis motors with Repetier (server version 0.70.1 on my raspberry pi to which the printer is attached).

The X- and Y-axis motor move, but sadly Z-axis motor does not. At first I thought the motor itself might be defective and so I changed the cabling to test it. With the z-axis motor wired to the Y-axis motor connector on the board, it DOES move (though of course for the wrong axis control).

Now I'm wondering whether I have a defective board here or what else might cause the Z-Axis connector on the board not to do its job. Any misconfiguration that might cause this? Any ideas?

Well, I figured it out. Potentiometers. Set them up correctly and the stepper motor moves just fine.
