Have anyone tried to use E3D-v4 HotEnd in their Felix printer:
"This hot-end has been tested to beyond 400 degrees centigrade, all heated parts are either steel, aluminium or brass.":

E3D-v4 HotEnd
Interesting hot-end. But this needs serious redesign of the Felix hot-end carriage.

I really think the whole carriage need to be redesigned. You don't want the hot end sticking out below, loosing precious Z building space. So the mounting with the carriage needs to be re-done. The cooling needs to be redone. The extruder motor and tension spanner needs to go up... Looks like this cooling solutions takes more space, so there less room for the tension spanner... Just a couple of "problems" I can quickly think of.
And the problem with designing printer parts for the printer, is that you need a printer to print these parts. And if you don't have a spare 3D printer, you need to reassemble the old part again if the part fails to work.
But please don't let my overthinking discourage you to create a compatible carriage

There's a new v5 version of the extruder, now with a Bowden solution! This will solve the previous problem with the height I posted above. I've ordered it today and I will redesign the carriage to fit it

Update:
I'm using this new hot-end for 2 weeks now, and works great! I even use 2mm retraction without failures.
Even printed ABS on 270 degrees.
I've designed a whole new carriage to use the E3d hot-end:
And I liked the mechanic design of the KISS feeder (keep it simple stupid feeder). But I don't want to keep things simple
I didn't want to feed the filament through the tubing with the stepper motor. Way to slow. So I made a release mechanism to drop the tension on the motor shaft. And I used the same filament toothed shaft feeder and bearing.
Almost ready to release the design. Anyone interested?

I'd need to buy a second extruder to start experimenting with other materials, I might as well use your design!
Some food of thoughts to further improve this: What do YOU think about removing the fans from the carriage and routing the air flow instead through tubes to a specific exhaust nozzle? Would it make sense?

@satoer: Thanks for sharing! Would love to see more photos of the design (and to look into the design files when you release them).
- What is the weight of the extruder, carriage and fans?
- Have you noticed any improvements in print quality? E.g. less ringing/waves and sharper corners etc.?
- Do you have any photos of parts printed with this new design?
