Twisted Jar Part

Post by RobGer »

Hi All,

I'm considering buying a Felix printer and would like to know if it can print the classic Twisted Jar part including the thread.
If anybody has printed this part I'd really appreciate you posting a photo of your print.
I've uploaded the stl file in case someone has the time to print for me.

Thanks.

Hello Kimmoli,

That part looks great and the thread looks like it printed out well too.

Thank you very much for doing this for me. If your ever in Brisbane, Australia, I will shout you a beer!

You're welcome.

Nice jar btw, maybe i find some real use for it, the cap thread seems to work nicely too - i used my "draft" settings of (SFACT) 0.25mm layer thickness, 0.32mm width, 15% fill, one extra layers on shell, 2 fully filled layers on top/bottom.

Print time was about 30 min (i think), i watched first 5 minutes and had to go to a meeting.

I attached better picture, download and zoom - i could say that closer inspection is now allowed...

Hi RobGer,

I printed the jar in normal quality on my printer that i bought, assembled and using now for about a month.
Realy easy to use for guys like me that have no experience with 3D printing.
If you know about 3D printing you can even get more out of the printer. :)

Sorry for the poor photo quality. Made them with my phone.

Have fun!

I will post soon (when i get my camera batteries charged) a picture from another print of the jar, i scaled it down to 70%, and printed with 0.14 layer thickness. The Blue PLA was not the best to print as it is kinda translucent. (should scale little smaller, then it would fit inside the larger one)
