My first hot-end thermistor decided to die. That was the one that came with my Felix 1.5. And I was printing only PLA, temperature being around 205 C. Nice that the kit had one spare thermistor in it. Installing it is a mess though.

Anyone made replacement carriage that can use J-Head / E3D hotends? :)

I ordered few different hot ends whit removable nozzle and when they arrive i will try to mod the extruder holder to fit those 8-)

My second thermistor bites the dust :evil: Ordered few thermistors from ebay. weird that those thermistors dies even they are rated at 300 C.

Thanks! So that's a drop in replacement, no tuning with the settings in firmware needed?

Yep, no tuning required just glue it in the hot end.

And now the spare one gave up. And this time I had printed just one small item in ABS (230 C) and less than 10 in PLA (200 C).

Fortunately I had ordered different brand of thermistors (which Mayhem mentioned). Installed one without any fire cement, just small piece of kapton tape to hold it inside. Seems to work fine. Let's see how long this time.. :evil:
