Wow, yes, the e3d extruder looks absolutely great.

Makes changing a clogged extruder simple.

I have the 1.5 to 2.0 upgrade kit waiting for installation, including some parts I have modified to be able to use an E3D hotend (bowden-type). Since I basically have to rebuild the whole printer, I'm going to change the belts to GT2 the same time. And I'm printing all the x-carriage parts in ABS to avoid any more sagging problems in the future.

Regarding the extruder getting clogged: I do not remember when I had to clean my current Felix-hotend (the old version) the last time. It might be because I got a PTFE-tube with the E3D-hotend and have been using that tube as guide for the filament with a dremel-thingie attached to the end where filament enters the tube. Or it might be because I haven't printed anything using PLA since..?

Also the spare thermistor I got from the same place has not yet failed even as I have been printing a lot of prototype parts in ABS (hotend running at 240-250 C !).

Any news on an E3D mount ?

I'm getting tired of my extruder playing up.

How hot does the stepper motor on the extruder get ? Mine is about 55-60 degrees C. Seems hot to me.

Also, I've noticed the heating element seems to be sliding around a bit. So I'm needing to heat the hotend to 210 to extrude better. Still not great.
