Printing Problem - Effect of ambient temperature?

Post by hoolito »

Hi All,

I am having problems printing with my Felix this week. Can someone share some thoughts of why this could be happening?

Last week it was printing perfectly.
Now it's all deformed... same .gcode

At first I thought it was caused by the PLA deposits over the hot-end.

These were "skinning" the aluminium and I thought this was isolating it, effectively preventing the cooling action of the forced air. But there is no improvement after cleaning it.

I do notice that the flushed pile of PLA (the one the printer does with the standard start code) is not hard immediatly but feels like gum. I normally pick it away with the tweezers right after the flushing ends before the hot-end homes again so this is how I noticed this.
The effect does seem to be some sort of melting.

Could this be caused by this heat wave we are feeling?

I will appreciate any help!
Regards!

They are both at around 25.4 so I guess the thermistors are OK.
Normally (I mean when my room temperature is regulated by central heating) they are about 20 to 21 degrees.
