What's wrong with the original belt?

Mine broke after problems with a sagging Y Axis and couldn't source locally here in Australia, I could however get a GT2 belts no problem.

I know it's being picky but using the GT2 with 16Tooth Drive pulley a step resolution 10 micron as opposed to 13.125micron per step with the 3M belt, I like nice round numbers :D

Does the new belt have any effect on print quality?

None whatsoever, just as good as it's always been :)

The first thing I did immediately noticed was the printer seems quieter, probably down to a different steps/mm so probably different harmonics.

Oh I didn't think it would get worse, I was just curious whether the finer step-per-mm value would increase repeatability of perimeters (thereby reducing the prominence of layer lines), but I suppose when you're swinging around a 350 micron nozzle, the added 3 micron positioning accuracy won't change much. Quieter is a big plus in my books though! I run my printer day and night in my bedroom... hmm maybe it's time for an upgrade!

I reduced the acceleration value of my printer, and it makes it quieter too, albeit slower.

yes I've ended up doing the same with the original head I as was getting some ringing on corners at the default settings. I'm hoping that with this new carriage and extruder setup I should be able to increase the acceleration and not get ringing due to less mass of the head.

I'm just waiting on the 'Right' pinion gear to arrive (they sent the wrong one arghh!!!!) so everything is now printed in ABS and boy it seems light so I cant wait to test it all out.

Afaik the closest you can get is 2mm ID and 4mm OD PTFE tubing. I found mine on aliexpress.com but I'm sure eBay would have some

I've designed a new bowden feeder with a quick release tensioner inspired by this Kiss mechanic: http://www.felixprinters.com/forum/view ... 3640#p3640
Uses the original Felix ribbed wheel and bearing.

satoer did you ever hear back about the rail connection piece for your extruder? I've your feeder printed, but not assembled (missing the springs), and I'm going to start on the extruder carriage tomorrow I think.
