Printer printing bad after 20 till 30 layers

Post by kerstens »

Hello all,

I have a problem with my printer (felix 2.0), but do not know what is causing the problem. I've tried everything.
Temperature increase from 195 to 210. Tried different profiles. (Production, normal, high)
In the beginning it prints well, but if the printer is at layer 25 or bit more it seems like too little filament is coming through the nozzle or the nozzle is blocked. Hopefully someone has some good advice for me. Thanks!

What kind of a dust trap you use? Effective dust removal by well working dust trap is essential to successful printing!

I have a small velvet covered cone on top of the extruder through which the filament passes just before diving into the extruder. It has worked OK for some time but suddenly stopped working some weeks ago. I started to experience similar problems to your pics. Probably the velvet got flat or something... Anyways, I added a small micro fiber cloth loosely folded around the filament and resolved my problems! Dust free filament is a MUST!

Thank you for your reply.I was not happy about the dust catcher I used anyway. so maybe this is the reason why I have this bad prints. I changed the dust catcher today. Hopefully it will improve my print.I will update this post when i have new test results.

Problem is solved. It was the Z-as hexagon socket screw that was not tighten enough.
