also, satoer, is there any reason why I couldn't make my setup a half-bowden? Would I be able to use your feeder carriage but use the e3d direct-feed hot end at the carriage? I was thinking I could mount the feeder high up on the frame, so there isn't much time between the carriage and the hot end for the fillament to gather dust, and that way, I could still use flexible fillament. seems ok, right?

I'll do a sketch of all that to make it clearer.
I think I really need this one to understand your description. ;-)

Have you seen this guys video. He has an Ultimaker and has used sewing machine old in the bowden tube to prevent the flexible PLA filamant causing friction in the tube and getting jammed....

Should work for us too. Although he does say he used a "small" amount of oil and had to print at 20% normal speed.

Anyone know if the carriage could be used with the e3d direct-feed hot end and still use satoers feeder?

Unfortunately not.

You'd have to modify it to take the stepper motor directly onto the carriage.

It's why it's called direct feed. :-)

Really need help here
Has somebody get KISSlicer and using it with this design?
The results I have with KISSlicer are promesing, but quality is especally if I have more than one part on the bed not as good as with the old original nozzle.
==> Getting strings of material from one to the other part; which iI have to clean afterwards but sometimes not really removebale and leaving marks on the parts.

If I use Sfact there results are much better

==> This has something to do with paramters , but I'm note able to solve this by changing the retract and purge parameters,......

As I paided for KISSlicer premium version I'd like to use the slicer (it's also faster and easier to use)

Another issue;
haven't had with the old design.
I can see where the path of the nozzle is starting and ending with both slicers ==> some buildup of material at that point at the outside. How to remove that?

makes sense actually, now that I think about it. the feeder would just push it out through the feeder, but not actually into the hot end. silly me!
