It looks quite nice. Do you know how much lighter it is compared to the previous version? And does it heat up better / keep the heat?

I have that kapton heater and new plate waiting for installation but I was wondering whether I should order this new "cardboard" plate instead..

The main advantage is that it is more flat than the alu plate.
But I think that de heat is faster 'blowing away' trough the plate. Maybe it is better to seal the 2 open sides.

Or you can choose for the glass plate...

Last week we have printed a raft. After the print, we can see the slight warming up and cooling down (difference of 2 degrees) of the cardboard bed. Some lines of the raft are more flat on the plate than other lines.
When I compare it with Repetier temerature curve then it have the same balance.

How can I change it?

Please describe your problem in more detail;
For me I could not see a difference betrwwen the old and the new heated bed, but I'm still using a 3mmglass plate.
Variances at operation I also have +/- 1 °C but this is no issue for me.

Check if yourbed is alligned correctly, as I had this issue also before I found out that my bed was just not leveled the same from left to right (one slide of paper passig on the right side more easely as on the left side on the bord)

So did some long 12h prints with the new heated bed.

Setup for PLA
Bed temperature: 65 °C
Nozzel: 195-206°C
Bed taped with Kapton tape and open ends of Bed closed with Kapton tape.
Glass Plate 3mm with hairspray

Temperature on Glas plate is 6°C less then the adjusted 65°C

Temperature variation during print:
Bed: +/- 1°C
Nozzle: Depending on extrusion: +/- 4°C

No issues so far
